Acceptance

I am having to accept that I am not into the blogging thing much anymore.  So, with that, my blogs may continue to be few and far between. Sorry.

Summer is in full swing.  We have made the most of it.  There have been baseball games, sleep overs at grandparent's house which also translate to lots of play time with cousins.  We have picked cherries, gone to graduations, been swimming, and had birthday parties.  We still have 4th of July festivities to come and a trip to Colorado.  It has taken my mind off the hot weather for sure.  All that being said, I feel like the end of summer is closing in on me way too soon.  I guess it is my own fault in someways, but I have decided to homeschool again this year and we will be starting back the second week in August.  It helps me to remember I am taking off the whole month of January.  I mean, no need to follow a public school schedule when I am homeschooling.

Other things on my mind today......
Let's start with how incredibly mad I am about some of the trash that blows up in my yard.  When Zach and I first started moving our stuff into this house he found a DVD cover of porn in our front yard.  Luckily, he found it and not my kids.  Today, I see something out in my front yard and think, "hmm wonder what that is.  It wasn't there earlier."  I walk out pick it up and guess what......PORN.  I could scream!!!!  City living at it's finest!!  Luckily, again, kids did not see it.  They are SOOO innocent in that area, it just horrifies me to think they might stumble on such graphic pictures as those.  Someday, we will make it out to the country.......someday.

"C" is sick.  He has strep throat.  No one in this family has ever had strep and here out of the blue in the middle of the blazing hot summer my boy gets sick.  It has really done a number on him also.  He is a really tough kid but this has knocked him out.  On top of that he has pretty persistent pain in his belly and we are having to watch him for appendicitis.  At the moment, the Dr. thinks it is probably inflamed lymph nodes since there is no fever to go with all this. Crazy!!  Prayers appreciated if you are so inclined to pray for him.

Those are my negatives.  Life is, in general, not negative around here.  Life goes on, Lubbock grows on me more and more, Zach is busy, spec house has a contract on it, and I have really had a pretty relaxed summer and so have the kids.  It has been nice.  All in all not many complaints, but plenty of blessing to fall into.

I will include pictures from Easter.  The Colorado Ketchums came and saw us and it was a wonderful, needed, lovely visit.

Actually, after looking the only recent pictures (that are not on Zach's phone) are from Easter.  I need to be better at taking pictures!!!

Easter morning.......

Group pictures are always hard.  To add to the "fun" of trying to get a good one, "A" busted his upper lip open at the play ground. So, because of steri strips, he is unable to smile.  I like to think he is posing for Hollywood or something with some of his intense looks. :)

Not bad, not great

At least one always cries.....

At least one making a goofy look.... (notice how it is always my kids) but okay picture

At least one looking anywhere but the camera (again, my kid)........but in my opinion the best one taken.

 Happy 4th Everyone!!!
