Finally August.....

We can't forget August.  It is in my opinion a very important month.  I have 4 nieces with birthday's in August, my in-laws celebrate an anniversary and of course the 26th is my very own special day.  Happpy Birthday me!!  Yes, I am one of those that loves my birthday, loves having my red velvet cake and feeling like I have a good excuse to do nothing.  Now don't get me wrong, there are many other days of the year that I do nothing, it just feels justified on my birthday.  To bad the school didn't see it that way when I was still in school.  Many years I got to go to the first day of school for my birthday, but not anymore!!

Two of my nieces live in Texas and I don't think I have ever been in Texas when they were having their birthdays, but that is a different story here in Colorado.  It is kind of like the May birthdays with 4 all within a weeks time of each other.  We have a 17th, 26th and 27th here.  This year we added a 24th in the mix since Kendra and Eric had their parents in town.  So three cakes, one big meal and lots of presents.  It was lots of fun.  I don't have any pictures of it though.  :(

Mom and Dad were also in town over this last weekend.  We got to spend a little time with them and they got to spend a little time on their "wildcat."  I guess I don't get to have it all the time......:)

I do have some pictures from the beginning of August though.  That is when the county fair takes place.  I don't have any kids in 4H yet, but I think C will start Clover Buds this year.  I figure it will become a fixture in our lives every summer.  I figure (though I don't know) that my kids will show animals.  For now though it means Ranch Rodeo time and I love the ranch rodeo.  Also, we had some very special visitors from Spain.  We were happy to get to see them again.

Well now I am caught up.  So next is school, birthday's, a new baby niece, and of course the all important hunting season..........

For those of you that don't know or don't remember,  my 2nd and 3rd kids share a birthday.  The hats were early gifts from their Aunt Casey and Uncle Jess so they would have them for the Ranch Rodeo, but their actual birthday isn't until September 8th.

Jaime, Maria, and their son Jaime.  They have another son Diego, but he was not interested in having his picture taken and it was really really cold that day!!!

My baby girl all ready for the rodeo.  She has her new hat and some borrowed clothes, but isn't she the cutest little cowgirl!

Our star of the show, Uncle Jess.  He had a really good day in my opinion and did some good ropin'.  C was so excited about him catching a cow that he kept saying, "did you hear the good news, Uncle Jess caught a cow!"
